Wonderfully imperfect.
Dave Snyder is an award-winning, design and creative executive with over 20 years of experience developing modern brands and digital products. His work is wide-ranging, from integrated campaigns and content; to immersive interactive experiences in VR and AR; to digital products.
He is driven most by discovering new ways for brands to express their purpose—whether it be a new narrative structure, brand system or the micro-interaction of a UI-element. That passion and dedication to craft has allowed him and his teams to win in nearly every major award show.
Rad work. Rad people.
Dave is currently Director of Product Design at Twitter, after spending time at Ueno leading two product vision workstreams for, wait for it, Twitter.
For 11 and half years Dave led creative work at Firstborn—a 65 person, digital agency headquartered in NYC which was acquired by Dentsu in 2011. Three of those 11 years were spent as Firstborn's Chief Creative Officer where he also worked across the larger Dentsu network to elevate the role and need for digital creativity.
During his tenure, Firstborn made many “Most Innovative Companies” lists—most recently in Fast Company in 2019. At Firstborn, Dave was responsible for driving the creative culture, vision and spirit of the agency as much as he is on the hook for the creative output for a wide range of consumer brands like: Beats,
Adidas, Foot Inc., Royal Caribbean, UNIQLO, Peloton, Mountain Dew, PepsiCo, Chevron, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Lancôme, L’Oreal and Jet.com.
Prior to Firstborn, Dave ran and grew FL2, an award winning and internationally recognized interactive design studio in Denver, CO. There he worked on a wide variety of projects—from interactive microsites and corporate websites to digital products and touchscreens—for brands like Boa Technologies, American Crew, Sims Snowboards and Vision Streetwear.
From ‘99-’05, Dave lived the startup life—developing the brand and digital platform for an early stage mobile content company (nReach) that was later acquired. He was also the design lead on two successful redesigns of the eToys.com and KBtoys.com e-commerce platforms.
If it weren’t for skateboarding Dave wouldn’t have ended up where he is today. Not because he was sponsored, but because it led him to photography, which taught him composition, then photoshop and then to this new(ish) thing called the internet where he learned to code and the basics of Design. And it’s been an amazing creative journey thus far.
Dave still skateboards, now with his son Chase (aka @sweepertheleg) with the support of his most radical wife, Shannon.
